Boys track and field team awards told

Greene County boys’ track coach Dean Lansman presented awards for the recently completed season.

Senior sprinter Max Neese was named team MVP. Neese is a 12-time state meet qualifier including the maximum four events this year. He was also named the Most Valuable Sprinter.

Senior Daric Whipple was named Most Valuable Hurdler. Whipple placed fifth in the Class 3A 400-meter low hurdles in this year’s state meet. He placed sixth in that race in 2015 and is now a two-time state place winner.

Levi Kiss was named Most Valuable Distance Runner while Matthew Gordon was named both the Most Improved and Most Valuable Field Event performer. Gordon wasn’t out for track in 2015, but qualified for state in the shot put this season.

Nolan Ford was named Most Improved Runner with Octavius Springer named the recipient of the Dedication Award. Tyler Beger, Mitchell Gorsuch, and Ethan Woodruff, all seniors, received Coach’s Awards. Whipple, Neese, and Gordon were named team captains.
